A group of 39 people, who want to meet Abdullah \u00d6calan, will come to Turkey from Europe and hold process-orientated meetings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police prevented the 23rd \u0130stanbul Pride March in \u0130stanbul\u2019s Be\u015fikta\u015f district, detaining at least 55 individuals, including four journalists and six lawyers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sentence of Kerim Boran, an 81-year-old seriously ill prisoner in Edirne F-Type Closed Prison, was cancelled by the decision of President Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan. Boran was released from Metris Prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In today’s hearing of the case in which 12 prisoners were murdered in the operation called \u2018Operation Return to Life\u2019 on 19 December 2000 in Istanbul Bayrampa\u015fa Prison, no verdict was reached. The lawyers of the case demanded that retired major Zeki Bing\u00f6l be heard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6 female prisoners who celebrated Newroz in Van T Type Closed Prison were sentenced to solitary confinement and visit ban on the grounds of creating \u2018fear and panic\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Constitutional Court (AYM) ruled that the right to life was not violated in the case of 17 year old Rozerin Cukur, who was shot during a curfew in the Sur district of Diyarbak\u0131r. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Association of Southeastern Journalists held an extraordinary statute convention in Diyarbak\u0131r and decided to leave the Federation of Journalists of Turkey, which has been on the agenda with racist discourses against Kurds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Health Ministry has introduced new restrictions limiting access to hormone medications used in gender-affirming treatment for individuals under the age of 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Human Rights Association organised the meeting ‘The Road to Peace: Memory and Justice’ meeting in Diyarbak\u0131r. Families of both soldiers and guerrillas shared their stories and expressed their demand for peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ekrem \u0130mamo\u011flu’s lawyer Mehmet Pehlivan was referred to the judge on duty with the demand of arrest due to \u2018being a member of an organisation established for the purpose of committing a crime\u2019 after the prosecution procedures. The judgeship decided to arrest Mehmet Pehlivan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The release of \u00c7etin Arka\u015f, who was held in Silivri Closed Prison and took part in the \u0130mral\u0131 Secretariat during the so-called “Resolution Process” 2013-15, was postponed for 3 months by the Administration and Observation Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tayfun Kahraman, a city planner and academic serving an 18-year sentence in connection with the 2013 Gezi Park protests, is facing worsening health conditions due to delays in treatment for multiple sclerosis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DEM Party Urfa MP Mithat Sancar becomes new member of \u0130mral\u0131 delegation. Sancar will replace S\u0131rr\u0131 S\u00fcreyya \u00d6nder, who died on 3 May while being treated in hospital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DEM Party Group Deputy Chairs, who visited Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmu\u015f, said, \u2018We agree that the parliamentary commission should be established quickly and work in the summer.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its evaluation of the regulation on the law of execution made within the scope of the “10th Judicial Package”, the Association of Civil Society in the Penal Execution System said: “The understanding of punitive justice was taken as a basis by moving away from the understanding of restorative justice”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Journalists Semra Pelek, Dicle Ba\u015ft\u00fcrk and Ozan C\u0131r\u0131k were detained were detained as part of an Artvin-based investigation in Turkey\u2019s Black Sea region, but no detailed explanation has yet been provided. In the statement demanding the reinstatement of the people with state of emergency decrees, KESK Term Spokesperson Ferid\u00fcn Kahraman emphasised that one of the requirements for social peace is the reinstatement of the people with state of emergency decrees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trial of \u0130stanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem \u0130mamo\u011flu, who is charged with \u201cattempting to influence a judicial expert or witness\u201d and \u201cattempting to influence a fair trial,\u201d was held at Marmara Prison in Silivri but has been postponed to a later, unspecified date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Journalist Rahime Karvar, who was on trial for alleged \u201cmembership in a terrorist organization,\u201d was released under judicial control at her first court hearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DEM Party Spokesperson Aysegul Dogan stated: \u201cWe are planning to make a visit to \u0130mral\u0131 Island as soon as possible. It is highly likely that Mr \u00d6calan will also meet with representatives of various political parties.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u0130stanbul Chief Public Prosecutor\u2019s Office has announced that an arrest warrant has been issued for Cafer Mahiro\u011flu, the owner of Halk TV, on charges of \u201cbid rigging.\u201d The statement also noted that Mahiro\u011flu was found to have left the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Human Rights Association (IHD) made a statement in front of Bak\u0131rk\u00f6y Women\u2019s Closed Prison, saying that the 10th Judicial Package failed to meet expectations and called for the urgent release of ill prisoners without the need for any legal procedures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the suspension of Gaziosmanpa\u015fa Mayor Hakan Bah\u00e7etepe, who was detained over alleged corruption, the municipal council convened and elected AKP council member Eray Karadeniz as acting mayor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Constitutional Court ruled that the \u201cobjectionable\u201d seizure of letters sent by 11 prisoners in different prisons was not necessary in a \u201cdemocratic society\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The release of Nihat \u015eahin, a 30-year prisoner in Tekirda\u011f Prison, was postponed on the grounds that he said, \u201cI paid price to live my Kurdish identity\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former Media Co. General Manager \u0130pek Elif Atayman, who has been detained since 19 March within the scope of the investigation against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) and was transferred from Silivri to Afyonkarahisar Prison without informing her family and lawyers, shared the ill-treatment she was subjected to and called on Minister of Justice Y\u0131lmaz Tun\u00e7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evaluating the 10th Judicial Package submitted to the Parliament, IHD Co-chair Eren Keskin said, “There is nothing in this package that will raise hopes for a solution. Equality in execution must be ensured and the Anti-Terror Law must be abolished.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
