The Constitutional Court ruled that the \u2018right to a fair trial\u2019 of Gezi protester Tayfun Kahraman was violated. Kahraman will be retried in the Gezi Trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The court ruled for the continuation of detention of journalist Erc\u00fcment Akdeniz, who was arrested through the Peoples’ Democratic Congress investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Erdo\u011fan has postponed a planned strike by mine workers for 60 days, citing protection of national security, according to a decision published in the Official Gazette today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmu\u015f announced that the commission to be established in the Parliament will start its work in the first week of August. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHP Chair \u00d6zg\u00fcr \u00d6zel said about the commission to be established in the Parliament, “The Speaker of the Assembly accepted our request, a qualified majority will be established in the commission. We will assign 10 of our friends to the commission tomorrow.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justice Minister Y\u0131lmaz Tun\u00e7 said regarding the commission to be established in the Parliament \u2018We will provide technical support to the decisions taken by the Parliament.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement MHP Chair Devlet Bah\u00e7eli said, \u2018While the range of terror-free Turkey is approaching step by step, the YPG \/ PYD’s slowing down the process and seeking to cripple the developments is an unacceptable ugliness.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prisoner Serhat Bulut, who was 4 months away from his release, was exiled from Urfa Prison to Elaz\u0131\u011f Prison. Bulut’s execution was burned before, and his release in December 2023 was postponed to 21 November 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday Mothers gathered at Galatasaray Square in week 1061 and asked for the fate of S\u00fcleyman Cihan, who disappeared in detention 44 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lawyers of Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet \u00d6zer filed a new appeal against his detention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DEM Party’s Executive Committee decided to determine the delegation that will hold talks with Abdullah \u00d6calan this week. It also decided to establish a coordination for the commission to be established in the Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaya family of 10 people returning from a picnic in Bayrampa\u015fa district of Istanbul was beaten and detained by the police yesterday evening for listening to a Kurdish song in their car. Detained 3 members of Kaya family were referred to the court for arrest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Ozer (CHP) was released during the hearing of the trial in the context of “urban concencus”. Ozer was not released as he was also under arrest from a different case. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week DEM Party Imrali Delegation members Pervin Buldan, Mithat Sancar and Faik Ozgur Erol will meet CHP, MHP and Future Party. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHP-affiliated \u015eile Mayor \u00d6zg\u00fcr Kabaday\u0131, who was detained in Istanbul on 10 July on allegations of “establishing terror organization to commit crime”, “bribery”, “extortion” and “bid rigging”, was arrested. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cPeace and Democratic Society Group\u201d of the Kurdistan Workers Party led by KCK Executive Council Co-chair Bes\u00ea Hozat organised a ceremenooty for the destruction of weapons upon the call of Abdullah \u00d6calan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Erdogan commented on the PKK’s weapon destruction ceremony, saying: “I hope the important step taken today on the path to our goal will bring good results.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHP Chair Ozgur Ozel noted that the weapons destruction ceremony is \u201cgratifying\u201d and stated, \u201cEstablishing complete peace in Turkey is only possible with justice and democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking after the PKK\u2019s weapons destruction ceremon, Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus said: \u201cWe have reached the end of our work on the commission to be established in Parliament.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Making a statement after the ceremony in which the PKK destroyed weapons by burning them, AKP spokesman \u00d6mer \u00c7elik said that a critical threshold had been crossed to reach the target. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Interior announced that CHP Mayor of Ad\u0131yaman, Abdurrahman Tutdere was suspended from office after a house arrest order was issued against him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police officers from Istanbul Security Directorate’s Anti-Financial Crimes Department raided CHP-affiliated Sile Municipality in the morning hours. Mayor Ozgur Kabadayi and some people from the municipality were detained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The General Assembly of the Parliament will continue its work without a break between 16-24 July. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Court of Cassation overturned the decision to dismiss the Central Council of the Turkish Medical Association on the grounds of the \u2018use of chemical weapons\u2019 statements on procedural grounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ministry of Interior dismissed Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar and Buyukcemkmece Municipality Deputy Mayor Ahmet Sahin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
