An \u0130stanbul court has ordered an access block on the website and social media accounts of the independent news outlet T24 as per a request from the \u0130stanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. The decision cited 118 column articles published over the past year that constituted “LGBTI+ propaganda.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bilal Erdo\u011fan, the son of President Erdo\u011fan, who maintains that Turkey has returned to its \u2018own normality\u2019, addressed Imam Hatip students, saying: \u201cYou are the guarantors of the country\u2019s values.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Journalist Fatih Ergin, news coordinator at the Nefes newspaper, was arrested on late Sep 28 over a social media post about the recent death of a doctor who had been questioned in the reopened investigation into the 2011 prison death of a former intelligence officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d6zg\u00fcr \u00d6zel, the New Party leader, claimed that the cost of the fund scandal amounted to 90 billion dollars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0130HD Ankara Branch Executive Board member Tu\u011fba Kahraman and Ankara Branch Youth Commission members Hale Nur \u00c7etin, Mert Ahmet Aldemir and \u015eevin \u00d6zden, who were detained and subsequently arrested ahead of the NATO Summit, were released at their first hearing on 29 September 2026, held after three months in detention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M.B., a soldier who testified as a witness in the trial of Diyar Ko\u00e7, who was detained after being subjected to torture, said Ko\u00e7 had not taken down the flag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0130leri Devrim Yurtsever, General Secretary of the Limter-\u0130\u015f Trade Union, who had been in custody for eight months, has been released. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justice Minister Ak\u0131n G\u00fcrlek filed a criminal complaint and brought a claim for non-pecuniary damages in response to allegations made by Ahmet \u015e\u0131k, an MP for the Turkish Workers\u2019 Party (T\u0130P) in Istanbul, concerning himself and his wife. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

El\u00e7in Aktoprak, a \u2018Peace Academic\u2019 who had been dismissed, has been reinstated to her post after nine years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second meeting of the Monitoring and Assessment Board, established as part of the process, has concluded. According to a written statement, the meeting addressed and finalized the formation of the subcommittees, their duties and areas of authority and inter-institutional coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An \u0130stanbul court has ordered the release of stand-up comedian Deniz G\u00f6kta\u015f after sentencing him to 11 months and 20 days in prison for “insulting the president” and seven months and 15 days for “insulting religious values.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The release of ill prisoners H\u00fcseyin Bilecan and Selim Acar who have spent 30 years in different prisons has been blocked by decisions of the Administrative and Monitoring Boards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sami Do\u011fan, President of the Social Democracy Association, announced that Kemal K\u0131l\u0131\u00e7daro\u011flu had been expelled from the association following an investigation by its Honorary Council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Occupational Health and Safety Council (\u0130S\u0130G) has announced that 6-year-old Halime Okkal\u0131 lost her life after being trapped under a machine in the production area of a pistachio factory in Urfa’s Hilvan district. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lawyer Berfin El\u00e7i, stating that the Ceylan \u00d6nkol case is an example of impunity, said that the Directorate for the Investigation of Unsolved Crimes should take up the case. \u00d6nkol was killed on 28 September 2009 by a mortar shell fired from a police station whilst he was grazing his animals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor\u2019s Office has launched an investigation of its own accord into Mustafa Erdem, the Antalya MP for the New Party, on charges of \u201cbribery\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nizamettin Kabai\u015f, whose daughter Rojin Kabai\u015f died in suspicious circumstances, has spoken out against the fact that the case has remained unsolved for two years, saying, \u201cThey are running away and not answering our questions. It is because they do not want the truth to come out, but we will keep fighting until the killers are found.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Erdo\u011fan has accepted the resignation of Fatma Bet\u00fcl Sayan Kaya, whose name was linked to transactions worth millions of lira during the fund crisis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duygu \u00d6zbay, Co-Chair of E\u011fitim Sen Diyarbak\u0131r No. 2 Branch, stated that centralisation, inequality and the exclusion of different identities within the education system lead to violence, adding that the solution does not lie in security-oriented policies.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday Mothers gathered at Galatasaray Square in week 1122 and demanded to know the fate of \u0130brahim \u00c7elik and his son Edip \u00c7elik, who were taken from their homes by Hizbullah in Batman on 10 July 1994 and have since gone missing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of National Education (MEB) continues to sign protocols that pave the way for religious communities and foundations to operate in schools. The MEB has announced that the Ensar Foundation will organise the \u2018Sana Emanet Knowledge Competition\u2019 in schools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following allegations that Fatma Bet\u00fcl Sayan Kaya, Deputy Chair of the AKP, and her husband, \u0130lyas Kaya, had made a profit of 1.3 billion lira, calls for Kaya to resign came from figures within the AKP. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Referring to the Peace and Democratic Society Process, Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmu\u015f said: \u201cThe law will not be implemented unless the organization\u2019s dissolution and disarmament are ensured.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A sentence has been sought against a staff sergeant in Hakkari on charges of \u201cintentional wounding under unjust provocation\u201d for using violence against a 10-year-old child named E.T., resulting in a broken arm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tons of trees felled in \u015e\u0131rnak’s Besta district in February and left at the cutting site to dry are now being transported out of the area in tarpaulin-covered trucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Progressive Lawyers’ Association has drawn attention to the case of \u0130rfan Y\u0131lmaz, a prisoner with a 96 percent disability who has not been released despite a report from the Forensic Medicine Institute, saying that his condition is deteriorating and that he should be released without further delay. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

AKP has taken control of \u0130stanbul\u2019s Adalar municipality after its candidate won an acting mayoral election following the suspension of the district\u2019s elected mayor in a corruption investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sezin U\u00e7ar, a lawyer and Deputy Co-Chair of the ESP who had been in custody, was released at her first court hearing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the investigation into the death of Narin G\u00fcran, a decision was made to block access to the 99 X account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a \u2018corruption\u2019 investigation targeting Yah\u015fihan Municipality in K\u0131r\u0131kkale, 31 people, including former mayors from the AKP and MHP, were taken into custody. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turkey Today – 23.09.2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ankara Mayor Mansur Yava\u015f has announced his resignation from the Republican People\u2019s Party (CHP), citing the disruption of opposition unity following a judicial crackdown launched last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following Mansur Yava\u015f\u2019s resignation from the CHP, \u00d6zer Kasap, Mayor of Beypazar\u0131, and Sat\u0131lm\u0131\u015f Karako\u00e7, Mayor of Kalecik, also announced that they were leaving the party and would continue in their posts as independents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u015eiyar \u00c7i\u00e7ek, who was held in Eski\u015fehir Prison, reportedly lost his life under suspicious circumstances after spending the last 10 days in a cell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During an investigation into the Dilovas\u0131 Massacre carried out at Dilovas\u0131 Town Hall, the families\u2014who were prevented from making a statement\u2014issued a written statement saying, \u201cWe will continue to pursue this case until everyone responsible for the deaths of our loved ones has been brought to justice.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employees of Buca Municipality in Izmir staged a walkout in front of the town hall after their rights under the Collective Labour Agreement (CLA) were not granted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turkey Today – 22.09.2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DEM Party spokesperson Ay\u015feg\u00fcl Do\u011fan, noting that fieldwork on disarmament is continuing, said, \u201cWe expect there to be significant developments in the coming days.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sava\u015f Ge\u00e7irgen, who is held at Suluca Prison, said he was subjected to insults by gendarmes while being transferred to hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ekrem \u0130mamo\u011flu, who is on trial on charges of \u201cabuse of office\u201d in connection with the official vehicle used during his term as Mayor of Beylikd\u00fcz\u00fc, stated that he had allocated a company vehicle to the municipality free of charge, thereby saving 30 million lira. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the third hearing of the case brought against Welat Agency reporter Nedim Oru\u00e7, the request for the return of the confiscated equipment was rejected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turkey Today – 21.09.2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The remains of two members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) have been identified through DNA testing, 27 years after their deaths. Bodies of K\u0131sao\u011flu and Kaya were exhumed in 2017 from the Garzan Cemetery in Bitlis and transferred to a cemetery of the unclaimed in Kilyos in \u0130stanbul’s Sar\u0131yer district, located along the edges of a road and sidewalk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Turkish Medical Association (TTB) has condemned restrictions imposed on the social media accounts of medical and health organizations as part of anti-LGBTI+ operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The release of the seriously ill prisoner \u0130zzethan Aykut has been postponed following a decision by the Administration and Observation Board. MP \u00d6znur Bartin raised the issue of this life-threatening delay in Parliament through questions she put to Justice Minister Ak\u0131n G\u00fcrlek. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whilst 72 people were detained in connection with the irregular granting of citizenship, precautionary measures were imposed on 2,000 properties, hotels, vehicles and bank accounts, and administrators were appointed to 30 companies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clarifying his previously debated comments on the process, \u00d6zg\u00fcr \u00d6zel, leader of the New Party, drew attention to Article 7 of the framework law, stating, \u201cThat article addresses democratisation. That is the real issue \u2013 it is an exciting and promising one.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the investigation into the death of Rojin Kabai\u015f, a student at Van Y\u00fcz\u00fcnc\u00fc Y\u0131l University, a new technical effort is being launched to crack the password of her mobile phone, which has so far remained locked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kurdish intellectual and journalist Musa Anter was commemorated on the street in Diyarbak\u0131r where he was murdered. During the commemoration, calls were made for the murder to be solved and for a process of reckoning, whilst attention was drawn to the struggle continued by Free Press despite all the difficulties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representatives of democratic mass organisations in Cizre, who called for concrete steps to be taken regarding the status of the Kurdish language within the Peace and Democratic Society Process, said, \u201cIf we do not protect our language, we cannot protect our very existence.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a new investigation into the S\u00fcleymanc\u0131lar group being conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor\u2019s Office, detention orders have been issued for 29 people, and administrators have been appointed to 23 companies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turkey Today – 19.09.2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A march was organised under the leadership of the Mesopotamian Language and Culture Research Association (MED-DER) to demand education in the mother tongue and to call for the mother tongue to be granted official status. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Families who lost loved ones in the 6 February earthquake have said they will continue their sit-in protests outside the Ministry of Justice until their demands are met. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turkey Today – 18.09.2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justice Minister Ak\u0131n G\u00fcrlek pointed to Erdo\u011fan as the presidential candidate, saying that the presidential election will be held in 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The release of \u0130zzethan Aykut, a prisoner with a 30-year sentence who is currently being held at Afyonkarahisar Prison, has been postponed for three months by the Administration and Observation Board on the grounds that he is \u201cnot of good behaviour\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mothers of Saturdays and the Human Rights Association (\u0130HD) reacted to the decision to apply the statute of limitations to the case of R\u0131dvan Karako\u00e7, who went missing whilst in custody, stating: \u201cThe case is being closed on the pretext of the statute of limitations.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the investigation into the death of Ka\u015fif Kozino\u011flu, a former MIT officer who died at Silivri Prison in 2011, two prosecutors who were on duty at the time of the incident and two of Kozino\u011flu\u2019s cellmates were brought before the court. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DEM Party\u2019s Imral\u0131 Delegation travelled to the island to meet with Abdullah \u00d6calan. This visit by the delegation is the first meeting to take place since the framework law was passed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, whilst on a visit to Syria, stated that they welcomed the SDF\u2019s decision to disband, whilst arguing that Israel\u2019s attacks were destabilising Syria. Fidan said that Erdo\u011fan would also be visiting Syria in the near future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the executive and supervisory boards of Kaos GL, Turkey\u2019s leading LGBTI+ organisation, were detained during police raids on their homes. Access to the websites and social media accounts of numerous LGBTI+ organisations and activists has been blocked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Health Ministry has defended restrictions on hormone therapy used in gender transition by citing the protection of the \u201cTurkish family structure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turkey Today – 12.09.2026<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday Mothers gathered at Galatasaray Square in week 1120 and drew attention to the case of Kenan Bilgin, who went missing whilst in custody in Ankara on 12 September 1994. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attention was drawn to the situation of the ailing prisoner Mehmet Sait Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m in Istanbul and the ailing prisoner Mehmet El\u00e7e, who is 93 per cent disabled, in Ankara, and calls were made for their release. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The text of the \u20181,001 Signatures for a Democratic Republic and Peace\u2019 campaign, prepared by artists, academics and human rights campaigners, was unveiled at a meeting held at the Ey\u00fcpsultan Cultural Centre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u015eamil Tayyar of the AKP said he had spoken to a number of figures in the higher judiciary regarding the case concerning the CHP\u2019s 38th Ordinary Congress. Tayyar claimed that the prevailing view was that the case had become moot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turkey Today – 11.09.2026<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lawyer Ercan Kanar said Abdullah \u00d6calan should be allowed to meet with everyone, adding: \u201cThis framework law is not a law that will ensure lasting peace in any real sense. However, if the Nelson Mandela Rules are applied to Abdullah \u00d6calan, it would pave the way for peace in Turkey.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imprisoned academic Nuriye G\u00fclmen said in a letter that H\u00fcseyin \u00d6zarslan, who has spent 30 years in prison, and Mehmet Akdemir, who has spent 20 years in prison, have been on hunger strike for 25 days, calling on people to stand up for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Osman Kavala\u2019s lawyers have applied to the court requesting a retrial following the latest ruling by the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A ruling imposing a \u201cpolitical ban\u201d has been handed down in the trial of Ekrem \u0130mamo\u011flu, the detained Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, in which he is being tried for remarks he made about the former Mayor of Tuzla, \u015eadi Yaz\u0131c\u0131. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

D\u00f6ne Kaya, spokesperson for the \u2018Families in Pursuit of Justice\u2019 Platform, who has spoken out against the defendants being released after receiving eight-year prison sentences in the case concerning the demolition of the Ezgi Block, announced that she would stage a sit-in outside the Ministry of Justice until she had met with the Minister of Justice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turkey Today – 10.09.2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saniye Bora F\u0131\u00e7\u0131, the CHP mayor of Fo\u00e7a, has officially joined the AKP. With F\u0131\u00e7\u0131\u2019s move, the number of AKP-led local councils in \u0130zmir has risen to three. The AKP had not fielded a candidate in Fo\u00e7a in the 31 March local elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the lawsuit brought by President Erdo\u011fan against \u00d6zg\u00fcr \u00d6zel, the leader of the YEN\u0130 Party, a total compensation payment of 800,000 TL was ordered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The villagers of De\u015ftin and Bay\u0131r, who are campaigning against the proposed cement factory in De\u015ftin, Mu\u011fla, have reacted strongly to the expert report that has been drawn up and emphasised that they will continue their campaign. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jantsa, a company owned by Ercan \u00c7er\u00e7io\u011flu, the husband of \u00d6zlem \u00c7er\u00e7io\u011flu\u2014the Mayor of Ayd\u0131n Metropolitan Municipality who left the CHP to join the AKP\u2014has become a supplier to TOGG. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turkey Today – 09.09.2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An investigation has been launched into \u00d6zg\u00fcr \u00c7elik, the Istanbul Provincial Chair of the New Party, and Berk T\u00fct\u00fcnc\u00fc, the \u00dcsk\u00fcdar District Chair. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three people were taken into custody during house raids carried out in the early hours of the morning in the K\u0131z\u0131ltepe district of Mardin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trans actor Meli Bendeli was formally arrested on Sep 6 as part of an \u201cobscenity\u201d investigation into public figures. The investigation, led by the K\u0131z\u0131lcahamam Chief Public Prosecutor\u2019s Office in Ankara, targeted seven people in simultaneous operations across five provinces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new hearing in the \u2018defamation\u2019 case in which Ekrem \u0130mamo\u011flu is standing trial for remarks he made about the former Mayor of Tuzla, \u015eadi Yaz\u0131c\u0131, is due to take place on Friday 11 September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The residents of \u0130kizk\u00f6y, who are waging a legal battle against the urgent expropriation decision taken to open a coal mine in the Milas Akbelen Forests, emphasised that olive cultivation, not coal, is in the public interest for the region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turkey Today – 08.09.2026<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seriously ill prisoner Mehmet Sait Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m, who has completed his 30 year sentence, has had his release postponed for a third time by a decision of the Prison Administration and Observation Board. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sel\u00e7uk M\u0131zrakl\u0131, the former co-mayor of Diyarbak\u0131r, was released today after nearly seven years in prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview, CHP Leader Kemal K\u0131l\u0131\u00e7daro\u011flu said that he did not regard Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem \u0130mamo\u011flu as a political prisoner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The election for deputy mayor at \u00dcsk\u00fcdar Municipality was re-run following a court ruling. Following a series of operations and arrests, the AKP candidate, D\u00fcndar Ziya G\u00fcltekin, who had led after the first three rounds, was elected deputy mayor in the final round by 23 votes. The CHP candidate received 19 votes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fourth hearing in the case concerning the explosion at Ravive Cosmetics in the Dilovas\u0131 district of Kocaeli, in which seven people\u2014including three children\u2014lost their lives, took place in Gebze. In a statement made prior to the hearing, the call for justice was reiterated.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turkey Today – 07.09.2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The release request of seriously ill prisoner Mehmet Sait Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m was rejected by the Izmir 2nd Execution Judgeship on the grounds that he had allegedly \u201cfailed to demonstrate good conduct.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mesopotamians Language and Culture Research and Development Association in Tekirda\u011f\u2019s \u00c7erkezk\u00f6y district was targeted in an armed attack overnight. One person was reportedly taken into custody in connection with the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A woman who said she was coerced into prostitution through threats by M.V., a specialist sergeant she met through social media, said: \u201cIt wasn\u2019t just me; they dragged other women in this filth too. I want those responsible to be arrested and punished.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mesopotamia Migration Monitoring and Research Association (G\u00d6\u00c7-DER) applied to Parliament, calling for the rights of displaced people to be guaranteed and for the organization to take part in parliamentary subcommittees to be established. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the Medium-Term Programme covering the period 2027\u20132029, drawn up by the Presidency\u2019s Directorate of Strategy and Budget and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the budget ceiling allocated to defence has been increased by 86 per cent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement given to the FBI by Umut Alta\u015f, the fugitive suspect in the G\u00fclistan Doku investigation, has been added to the case file. In his statement, Alta\u015f stated that Mustafa T\u00fcrkay Sonel had killed Doku and that he had helped to move the body. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the DEM Party\u2019s 5th Ordinary Congress, Tuncer Bak\u0131rhan and T\u00fclay Hatimo\u011fullar\u0131 were re-elected as co-chairs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instagram has closed the Turkish-language account of the Mesopotamia Agency. Citing its \u2018Community Guidelines\u2019 as the reason for the closure, Instagram did not allow an appeal or a request for reconsideration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Saturday Mothers\/People brought attention to the case of Fethi Ild\u0131r, whose body was found bearing signs of torture after he was taken into custody in 1993, during their 1,119th week of protest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Halide T\u00fcrko\u011flu, spokesperson for the DEM Party Women\u2019s Assembly, who emphasised the need for a Women\u2019s Council to ensure women play a key role in the peace process, said that the contacts they had established with female representatives from political parties with parliamentary groups were in the process of developing into a formal organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Diyarbak\u0131r, police raided Amargi Culture and Arts Association after midnight, conducting an unannounced search and changing the lock on the association\u2019s door. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahead of the election for deputy mayor, four CHP members of the \u00dcsk\u00fcdar Municipal Council defected to the AKP. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor\u2019s Office has launched an investigation into 36 companies in connection with tenders organised by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and its subsidiaries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Journalist Oya Lale \u00d6zan Arslan was detained as part of an investigation launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor\u2019s Office on charges of \u201cpublicly disseminating misleading information\u201d and \u201corganised group propaganda\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite being acquitted in the case against him, dismissed Mardin Co-Mayor T\u00fcrk will not be able to resume his post for at least another two months following the decision to extend the suspension. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fifteen people have been taken into custody as part of an investigation launched by the Diyarbak\u0131r Chief Public Prosecutor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the 75th day of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (\u0130BB) trial, the requests for release submitted by the detained defendants were heard. The prosecutor at the hearing delivered his closing statement, calling for the continued detention of all the defendants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Erdo\u011fan, stating that the government has a roadmap and timetable for the process, said, \u201cProcesses that are open to such provocation must not be allowed to drag on for too long.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mustafa Karasu, a member of the KCK Executive Council, stated that they expect face-to-face meetings with Abdullah \u00d6calan to take place in the coming period.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mazlum Abdi, the SDF Commander-in-Chief who was appointed to the post of \u2018Presidential Adviser\u2019 following the announcement that the SDF had been disbanded in Syria, has been removed from Turkey\u2019s \u2018terrorist list\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case of Mehmet \u015eim\u015fek, a member of the Revolutionary Youth Associations who was arrested ahead of the NATO Summit and subjected to torture and ill-treatment at Antalya S-Type Prison, was raised in Parliament, calling for an investigation into the incidents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the investigation into \u00dcsk\u00fcdar Municipality, in which Mayor Sinem Dedeta\u015f was arrested, Deputy Mayors Amine Cansu \u00c7elik and Mithat \u00d6zdemir have been taken into custody. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drawing attention to the lawlessness that has occurred during the conflict, Erin\u00e7 Sa\u011fkan, President of the Union of Bar Associations, said, \u201cThe issue should be viewed not merely as the silencing of weapons, but as the full-scale establishment of a democratic state governed by the rule of law and the fostering of social cohesion through the law.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marches were held in Diyarbak\u0131r and Istanbul to mark World Peace Day on 1 September, under the slogan \u2018Democracy and peace will triumph over war and exploitation\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former Minister of the Interior \u0130dris Naim \u015eahin, who had gone to Ankara Courthouse to give evidence as part of an investigation into the S\u00fcleymanc\u0131lar community, was referred to the duty magistrate\u2019s court with a request for judicial supervision. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
