In addition to lawyers affiliated with these organisations, the Mission was also constituted with the institutional participation of the International Bar Association\u2019s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI), the Union of Italian Penal Chambers (UCPI) and Esculca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/eldh.eu\/en\/2026\/06\/independent-legal-mission-on-the-peace-process-in-turkey\/\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Statement by Abdullah \u00d6calan on the legal framework<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement conveyed through the \u0130mral\u0131 Delegation, Abdullah \u00d6calan said that the Kurdish-Turkish alliance must be given legal guarantees through legislative measures and added: \u201cIt is possible to live together as equals and in freedom in a democratic republic.
