In Silivri prison, according to statements by prisoner Halil Ay, 20 prisoners have been sleeping on cardboards for 3 days. In addition, hot water is repeatedly turned off during showers and food is served cold. 

Turkish Army’s military offensive in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq continues. The Turkish soldier İslam Çiftçi died in clashes. 

The 10 ambassadors who signed a common statement regarding the Osman Kavala case were reportedly not invited to the ceremony at the Presidential complex where Erdoğan received the greetings on the occasion of October 29 Republic Day in Turkey. 

Şenyaşar Family’s search for justice continues on day 237. The family lost three members as a result of the attacks of AKP Deputy İbrahim Halil Yıldız and his relatives.

35 political prisoners were transferred from Şırnak to other prisons. No information about the new whereabouts was given to the relatives. 

Prisoners in Antep prison were threatened with death by guards after they spoke out against being transferred to another prison wing. 

Saturday Mothers came together in week 866 to ask those responsible for the death of Hüseyin Toraman. He disappeared after detention on 27 October 1991. 

Daily Yeni Akit said that La Casa de Papel actress Itziar Ituno Martinez had given compliments to the PKK during a movie preview in Istanbul. Martinez also met with Başak Demirtaş, wife of imprisoned former HDP co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş.

Turkish police detained Cemil Taşkesen, a Kurdish man for deeming Turkey’s southeast “Kurdistan” while talking to IYI Party Chair Meral Akşener. The man is accused of “making propaganda of a terrorist organization.”. Taşkesen was released in the evening. 

Hakkari Governor’s Office extended the ban on actions and activities in the city for another 15 days. The ban has been lasting for 971 days. 

Co-Chairs of HDP Batman sentenced to one year and eight months in prison for “spreading terrorist organization propaganda”. 
Discharged from Ankara University by a Statutory Decree for having signed the declaration “We will not be a party to this crime” by Academics for Peace, Nail Dertli’s application has been rejected by the State of Emergency Commission.
Turkey’s Directorate General of Migration said that they would deport seven Syrians who shared “provocative” videos of themselves eating bananas in reference to a street interview where a citizen said that he couldn’t afford to buy bananas, but that Syrian residents could afford it “in bulk.”

The 5th hearing of the Kobanî trial was held in seven sessions: All requests for release have been rejected. 

The ban of the Governor’s Office on demonstrations in Van enters day 1800. The bans has been in effect since 21 July 2016. 
The 10th hearing of the trial where since shuttered TV10’s former cameraman Kemal Demir and employee Kemal Karagöz face “aiding and abetting a terrorist organization without being a member” charges was held in İstanbul. Giving time for the defense, the court adjourned the trial until December.
The Radio and Television Supreme Council has fined Halk TV over its broadcast on Turkey Youth Foundation and upon the complaint of the Press Advertisement Institution. 

The appeals court has overturned the verdict on Çetin Kurşun, a reporter for closed Azadiya Welat newspaper, finding his prison term insufficient. 

Protesting in several cities across Turkey, physicians have urged the authorities to recognize COVID-19 as an occupational disease.

Former DBP Diyarbakır Provincial co-chair Emine Ruken Akça who stood trial for ‘membership in a terrorist organization’ charges was sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in prison. 

The third hearing of the trial where journalist Caner Taşpınar faces “insult” charges upon complaints by AKP founding members, was held in İstanbul. At the hearing the court stated that the opinion was not prepared as the prosecutor had changed. Trial adjourned until January. 

Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun accused Deutsche Welle Turkish of producing fake news and poisoning Turkish-German relations after the outlet published a story that claimed Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu said he would resign if 10 ambassadors are declared “persona non grata.”The Senate has confirmed former Senator Jeff Flake to be the US’s new envoy to Ankara. Flake will now succeed current ambassador David Satterfield.

A man who carried out an acid attack on a Syrian trans woman has received a reduced sentence from 11 years to six years in prison because of “unjust provocation”.

A military operation was launched in Mardin’s Ömeryan district. 
The 9th hearing of the retrial where since shuttered Dicle News Agency’s former reporter Ramazan Akoğul faces “membership in a terrorist organization” charges was held in Diyarbakır. The court’s decided to wait for the investigation file, which has not been received from the Dicle Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office for three years, and adjourned the trial until January.
The 8th hearing of the trial where three journalists including Osman Akın and Veysi Sarisözen face “spreading consecutive terrorist propaganda”  charges was held in İstanbul. The court decided to wait for the execution of the arrest warrants for Veysi Sarısözen and the other defendant and to initiate the process so that the statement of Sarısözen who lives abroad to be taken by rogatory. Trial adjourned until February. 
The house of an environmental artist in Trabzon, northeastern Turkey, burned down in a suspected arson attack. 

Five Parliamentary questions addressed to Health Minister Koca about the working conditions of assistant physicians have been left unanswered.

The academics of Boğaziçi University denounce the police violence and detention of 45 students at the campus on October 22, calling on the appointed university administration to immediately resign from office. 

An armored police vehicle crashed into six vehicles underway in İstanbul’s Sarıyer district. Three people were injured. 

“The HDP is legitimate; it is in the Parliament, it has MPs,” says SP Chair Temel Karamollaoğlu: “Selahattin Demirtaş should be released”.

In Silivri prison, a relative who wanted to visit an inmate was strip-searched.

According to ANKA new agency Turkish Foreign Ministry officials have tried to find a way to prevent President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan from giving the order to declare 10 Western ambassadors “persona non grata,” but failed. 
Ilnur Cevik, Chief Foreign Affairs Adviser to Turkish President Erdogan: “The president is very determined on this subject. He thinks that Turkey has been insulted unprecedentedly”. 

The former HDP co-chairperson of Van was transferred from Van prison to another prison. The family and lawyers have not yet been informed of the new prison.

It has been revealed that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan was given a disciplinary penalty in September 2018 on the grounds that he paced back and forth in his cell.

The Constitutional Court rejected the application which claimed that the penalties for those who participated in the Gezi Park protests “violated the right to organize meetings and demonstrations”.

17 HDP members were detained during house raids carried out in Izmir.
The tent where students have been holding a vigil in protest against the appointed rectors has been removed upon the instruction of the Rectorate; several people were detained. HDP MP Hüda Kaya was denied entry to the campus. 
Journalist Fırat Fıstık investigated over report on Boğaziçi University rector. The report documented that the rector identified the students who protested against him and filed a criminal complaint against them, which resulted in the arrest of two students.

Turkish parliament voted down the CHP’s motion to establish a parliamentary investigation commission to look into government-funded foundations.

Former Mardin Nusaybin Mayor and TJA Spokesperson Ayşe Gökkan has been sentenced to 30 years in prison; Gökkan and her lawyers did not make defense, citing the attitude of the court as the reason. 

Kurdish politician Osman Baydemir’s right to assembly and demonstration and right to a trial within reasonable time have been violated by his deferred prosecution, concludes the Constitutional Court. 

The Konya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has completed the investigation into the deadly racist attack on a Kurdish family; arrested pending trial, three defendants have been released from prison. 
Court adjourns hearing of journalists who reported on torture in Van. Court lifts all judicial measures imposed upon journalists, who are accused of “membership in a terrorist org” due to the reporting on torture of two citizens.
Put on trial for joining the protests against the appointed rector of Boğaziçi University, nine people face 6 months to 11 years in prison. The court lifted the judicial control measures of seven defendants at the first hearing.

Lawyers of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan applied to Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office to meet with their clients. The last meeting was in 2019. 
The 5th hearing of the trial where journalist Hayko Bağdat faces “insulting the president” charges was held in İstanbul. The journalist who lives abroad and his lawyers whose excuses have been accepted by the court didn’t attend the hearing.

The 3rd hearing of the trial where 8 people including journalists Ahmet Kanbal, Mehmet Şah Oruç, Rojda Aydın, Nurcan Yalçın and Halime Parlak face “defying the Law no. 2911” charges was held in Mardin. In line with the prosecutor’s opinion, the court has acquitted the journalists of all charges on the grounds that there are no sufficient and definite evidence which show that the crime was committed.

The 7th hearing of the trial where journalist Vedat Örüç faces “terrorist propaganda” charges was held in Kocaeli. The court sentenced Örüç to 1 year 6 months 22 days in prison on the charges of “terrorist propaganda”. The court deferred the announcement of the verdict.
Upon the criminal complaint of Burdur Provincial Gendarmerie Command, an access block has been imposed on two news reports and one article published by Evrensel Newspaper 5-6 years ago. 

Over 100 academics of Boğaziçi University appeal to the Council of State and request the cancellation of Naci İnci’s appointment as the rector, underlining that his appointment is against the law.

The Diyarbakır Bar has applied to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe for the implementation of the ECtHR ruling of rights violation and immediate release for jailed politician Demirtaş. 

CHP MP Mahmut Tanal has applied to the Parliamentary Human Rights Investigation Commission for the Şenyaşar family, who lost their three family members in an attack in Urfa’s Suruç in 2018. 

Vice President Fuat Oktay has filed a criminal complaint against CHP Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu over his video where he made a call to bureaucrats. Kılıçdaroğlu briefly said, “You cannot get away with this dirty business by saying, ‘I received an order.’ Whatever unlawful thing you are made to do, stop as of Monday.”

The Kobane trial continued today.  Journalists, including reporters from ArtiTV are obstructed from covering the trial at the Sincan Prison Complex on the grounds that they do not possess the Presidency issued “turquoise press card.” 
The 36th hearing  of the trial where since shuttered Taraf newspaper’s former administrators Ahmet Altan, Yasemin Congar and Yıldıray Oğur, reporter Mehmet Baransu, and Tuncay Opçin face numerous charges was held in İstanbul. Announcing its interim decision after 10 minutes of deliberation, the Court decided to refuse the lawyers’ recusation and to continue Baransu’s detention. Trial adjourned until November. 
Killed in a house raid on her house, Dilek Doğan’s family has criticized the fact that the defendant police officer will serve only 45 days behind bars if the Court of Cassation upholds the ruling of the local court.  

Peace Mother Hatice Baytur was detained for wearing a yellow, red and green headscarf at a rally in Diyarbakir.

The Syrian Liberation Front branch of the Syrian National Army  whose human rights abuses have been reported numerous times, said that it is “determined to clear our regions from all terrorist organizations” and went on to list PKK, PYD and ISIS as “terror groups.” 

In Van prison, prisoners were forced to change cells. Those who refused were beaten by the guards.

The AKP-run Denizli Municipality has been paying thousands of liras in rent a month for a building used by TÜGVA, an Islamist foundation with close ties to President Erdoğan. A report by the Court of Accounts registered the transaction as a protocol signed with the “T foundation.”. 

Thirty members of the Confederation of Public Employees’ Unions (KESK) have been acquitted of “being a member of a terrorist organization” in a trial process that has been going on since 2009.

The 4th hearing of the trial where Cumhuriyet reporter Hazal Ocak is sued by former Minister of Treasury and Finance Berat Albayrak with a request of 200k Turkish Liras was held at İstanbul 8th Civil Court of First Instance. The court has decided to wait for the finalization of  Ocak’s acquittal decision ruled by İstanbul 2nd High Criminal Court and adjourned the trial until February.
The 2nd hearing of the trial where Mesopotamia News Agency reporter Mehmet Aslan faces “membership in a terrorist organization” was held in İstanbul. Trial adjourned until December. 
The 4th hearing of the trial where 31 people including journalist Sonya Bayık face  “defying the Law on Assemblies and Demonstrations no. 2911” charges was held in. Trial adjourned until February. 
The 10th hearing of the trial where Xwebun columnist Mehmet Şahin faces “founding a terrorist organization” charges for his activities within DTK was held in Diyarbakır. The court has decided to give time for secret witness statements to be taken. Trial adjourned until February. 

The 4th hearing of the trial where a street artist with the pseudonym Izinsiz faces “insulting the president” charges was held in İstanbul. The court has decided that an experts’ commission with Mimar Sinan University scholars to be formed in order to assess the artistic value of the piece in question and adjourned the trial until January.

HDP co-mayor of Van’s Özalp district Yakup Almaç who faces membership in a terrorist organization charges has been sentenced to 8 years and 6 months in prison. 
The 2nd hearing of the trial where 8 people including journalists Ahmet Kanball, Mehmet Şah Oruç, Rojda Aydın, Nurcan Yalçın and Halime Parlak face “defying the Law no. 2911” charges was held in Mardin. The court has decided to send the case file to the prosecution to prepare its opinion as to the merits of the case and adjourned the trial until October 20. 

The Hatay branch of the Education and Science Workers’ Union has filed a lawsuit against members of the fascist and ultra-nationalist organization Grey Wolves on accusations of raiding a high school last week. The group denied the accusations and instead labeled the teachers, who brought the charges, as “supporters of terrorism.”

In house raids carried out in the early morning hours, some people including the executives of the People’s House, Socialist Refoundation Party and Workers’ Party of Turkey have been taken into custody. 

The 3rd hearing of the trial where journalist Roza Metina faces “membership in a terrorist organization” charges was held in Diyarbakır. The journalist is acquitted of all charges. 

The 2nd hearing of the trial where journalist Rusen Takva faces “membership in a terrorist organization” charges was held in Van. The journalist is acquitted of all charges. 
The 4th hearing of the trial where journalist Rojda Oğuz faces “membership in a terrorist organization” charges was held in Van. Trial adjourned until January. 
The 9th hearing of the trial where journalist Hayri Demir faces  “membership in a terrorist organization” was held in Ankara. Trial adjourned until December.

The 13th hearing of the trial where 23 defendants including ETHA editor İsminaz Temel and reporter Havva Cuştan face “membership in a terrorist organization” charges was held in İstanbul. The court has decided to continue the judicial control measures imposed on the defendants and adjourned the trial until February.

Standing trial on charge of “neglect of duty” over the bombing of the HDP’s Diyarbakır rally in 2015, 10 police officers have been acquitted and four police officers have been sentenced to 2 months, 15 days in prison, with their sentences deferred.

In the indictment prepared regarding the attack against HDP İzmir Provincial Organization and the murder of Deniz Poyraz, aggravated life imprisonment and up to 7 years in prison were requested for the perpetrator Onur Gencer.

The 6th hearing of the trial where Yeni Yaşam newspaper reporter Hatice Şahin faces “membership in a terrorist organization” charges was held in Diyarbakır. The court has decided to wait for the statement of a defendant tried in another case and to continue the judicial control measures imposed on journalist Şahin. The trial is adjourned until January. 
Dismissed by appointed rector İnci, academic and documentary filmmaker Can Candan is not let in Boğaziçi University, where has been a lecturer for 14 years. 

Amid widespread student protests for affordable housing, President Erdoğan met with young people. He denied the existence of such a problem and called on the youth to work for the “vision of 2053”.

Police attacked the commemoration for the victims of Ankara massacre. Several people were detained. Journalists Tamer Arda Erşin was threatened by police “We will divide you into four”. 
Kurdish construction worker Muhammed B. from Kobanê, who was taken into custody during the police raid in Adana on 7 October, was transferred to Adana Courthouse after his procedures at the police station. After giving his statement he was sent to prison.

Turkey has submitted its response to the CoE Committee of Ministers about the imprisonment of Selahattin Demirtaş. It includes “nothing new,” says Demirtaş’s attorney. 

Chat histories on WhatsApp prove that the attacks on the Dedeoğlu family in Konya were racially motivated. 

Garibe Gezer, a prisoner at Kandıra No. 1 Type-F Prison in the Kocaeli province, has announced that she was tortured and sexually assaulted by wardens in a padded cell. Human Rights Association Co-Chair Eren Keskin filed a criminal complaint against the wardens and the prison doctor.

In the trial over the death of 4-year-old Leyla Aydemir, all defendants have been acquitted without the new evidence being examined.  
CHP İstanbul Chair Canan Kaftancıoğlu has been indicted for “insulting” Presidency’s Communications Director Fahrettin Altun. She is facing up to 2 years, 4 months in prison. 

The 25th hearing of the trial where 83 people including journalist Engin Eren face “membership in a terrorist organization” charges was held in Batman. Trial adjourned until November. 

The 4th hearing of the trial where photographer Mehmet Özer faces “making terrorist propaganda” charges was held in Ankara. The court sentenced Özer 1 year 6 months to prison and deferred the announcement of the verdict. 
The hearing of the trial where exiled artist Ferhat Tunç faces “making terrorist propaganda” charges was held in İstanbul. The court’s decided to continue the arrest warrant and adjourned the trial until April 2022.

The Radio and Television Supreme Council has launched an investigation into Fox TV over comments of Başak Demirtaş, wife of former HDP leader Selahattin Demirtaş, during her interview with journalist İsmail Küçükkaya. 

Three journalists have been acquitted in the case over reports about the investigation into the killing of 14-year-old Berkin Elvan, who was shot in the head by a tear gas cannister during the 2013 Gezi Park protests. He lost his life after nine months of coma.

Istanbul court arrests two Boğaziçi students for protesting appointed rector. 

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan ordered his party to carry out legal regulations to allow for university rectors to “take initiative to ensure public order”. 

Despite Turkey’s commitment to the ECtHR regarding the case of Zahir Yılmaz, who was killed by soldiers 18 years ago in Çaldıran, the local court closed the case. 

Two more people have been arrested over the deadly racist attack on Dedeoğulları family in Konya, bringing the total number of arrested people to 13.

The Parliament has ratified the Paris Climate Agreement: Published in the Official Gazette, the related law has entered into force.
